M Solar Observatory Launch

I am in the process of establishing a small independent Solar Observatory in the City of Bartlett, TX. Using concept of “Value for Value” I will do Science, local Educational Outreach and Art Projects. It will be primarily funded by grassroots efforts, donations and various fundraising methods.

I am starting with the system depicted below with main components of:

Celestron Omni XLT 120 refractor Telescope

CG-4 Equatorial Mount

Daystar Quark CaIcium H line filter

Apollo-M IMX 174 camera

Initial funding campaign will be via related product store on Etsy . Please visit and participate, I will be grateful for your contribution to this novel concept.

Current minimal Solar Telescope setup will soon have the “first light”. This setup have been chosen due to my Scientific interest in magnetic properties and behaviors of the Sun. Calcium H line extracted by the ultra-narrow band Quark filter traces magnetic fields of the Sun very well. Future plans are to obtain other Quark filters, for the H-Alpha line, Magnesium I b2 line and Sodium D line. Such setup would allow for much more comprehensive research leading to peer reviewed publications.

Results from the current setup will be available through Maletic Research Social Media presence on Mastodon.
